Camp Pageturner - Summer 2025

At Camp Pageturner, children spend each week exploring their passions through a literacy lens. Each day includes all the summer fun you’d expect, like field games or trips to the pool. It also includes lots of opportunities to have fun reading and writing. Throughout the week, campers take part in fun and motivating reading and writing activities based on that week’s theme. Participants read books, use their imaginations, and take part in all sorts of creative writing.

Again in 2025, the CLC is offering:

  • Science Theme Collaboration with KEEPERS & the Leitzel Center! Your child can explore inventing, engineering, and math AND reading and writing–all wrapped up in a typical summer camp experience! This option is available only for a 'mini-camp' session July 1-3. To participate, enroll your child in the morning session of Camp Pageturner for that week and the afternoon session of KEEPERS. Students will be walked from Camp Pageturner to KEEPERS by Camp staff.
  • 1-1 Literacy Support: Want individual reading/writing instruction for your child? Register for our Pageturners 1-1 Literacy Support option. Students will meet with a CLC Program Leader for 4 30-minute sessions during camp hours. This option costs $50/week and will appear in the shopping cart after adding a camp session. 1-1 Literacy Support is not available during the short week of July 1-3. A student purchasing the 1-1 Literacy Support option must also be enrolled in the corresponding session of Camp Pageturner.

Each week on Friday at 4 pm we invite families to attend a showcase or performance. Camp will still end at the regular time, and it will be recorded if a parent can't make it.

Camp is held at the Community Literacy Center, 109 Morill Hall, 62 College Rd, Durham, NH. Details regarding drop off locations, times, and other information is sent from program staff via email to enrolled participant parents/guardians before the session start date. Please be sure the email address provided during enrollment is that of a parent/legal guardian, not the participating student.

During this short week, we bring it back to the basics: we read, we write, and we have a great time.

Session 2 (Morning Only): Whimsical Words

This option is only for children who participate in the Leitzel Center’s ½-day KEEPERS camp. Campers will spend the morning with the Camp Pageturner crew at the CLC and be walked to KEEPERS Camp at 12:00.

Session 3: YIP, YIP, Hooray! (Theme - Inventing)

At Write, Camera, Action, we will spend the week making a movie. You will learn about writing a screenplay, producing a film, and more! On the last day of camp, we’ll have our own screening.

Family Accounts are recommended for enrolling multiple children from one family in any UNH Youth Program. If you already have an account in our system, you will be asked to log into either a Family or Student Account after adding the program to your shopping cart. Be sure to use the username and password for the type of account you wish to log into. We recommend attempting to log into the Student or Family account before enrollment opens as this will minimize difficulty and time while enrolling. Email youth.programs@taogoods.net if you require assistance recovering your account information. Do not create a new account if you have one already.

If you don't have an account already, you can set up an account at any time, even before you begin the registration process. When you create a new account, the email address provided in the profile should be that of a parent/legal guardian, not the participating student. Review the Online Registration Instructions before creating a new account.

CampDoc: UNH has partnered with CampDoc to quicken the enrollment process. Enrollments and payments will still be made here through our current enrollment system, but no registration questions will be required at that time. Within a few days of enrolling, the email provided in the student or family account will receive an email prompting completion of the registration questions.

It is important that a parent/guardian responds to the CampDoc email and completes the registration questions promptly. Families who enrolled a child in a UNH Youth Program in Summer 2023 or after will likely already have a CampDoc account. Even if the student already has a CampDoc account, a parent/guardian should log into the student's account to review and complete any necessary questions for a specific program or year.

All registration questions must be 100% complete in CampDoc before a student can attend a youth program.

For more information, including the CampDoc Support Line, review our CampDoc page.

The UNH Community Literacy Center is located in Suite 109 of Morrill Hall, 62 College Rd., Durham, NH.

Additional information, including check in location and times are sent to participants by the program staff prior to the session start date.
